Isaiah 54:10

“For the mountains may move
    and the hills disappear,
but even then my faithful love for you will remain.
My covenant of blessing will never be broken,”
says the Lord, who has mercy on you.

Dandelion in the Sun

Took another trip around my yard during the lighting of the “Golden Hour”. I am continuing to look closer at the world and objects around me to see them differently. This dandelion in the sun is today’s favorite shot.

Looking a Little Closer

A lot of times I pick up my camera and go out to find “that shot”, and come back disappointed. Typical me, I go out and see the common everyday stuff, and just see it for what it is… a tree, scrap metal, junk, etc…. But, today I determined to go out and look a little closer to see what textures and designs I may find on all these everyday things that surround my own home. After ignoring the left side of my brain I focused in more and saw the light hitting textures in a certain way. I saw how metal sheets rusted causing new texture and color, all the while the sheets stacked oddly creating a geometric design. I walked outside thinking, “Well lets just see what I can find”, and came back in thinking, “That was pretty cool.” I’m going to head back out to my own yard later when the sun goes down some and casts the shadows differently. Those same objects can create completely different pictures with the change of light and shadow creating dramatic affects. Here is one of today’s photographs:

Raindrops on Iris

There are few things as beautiful in this world as the delicacies of the flower; especially with the gentleness of raindrops balancing on the petals. I got close-up on this purple Iris to see the intricacies of its design. Truly God is a master artist.

Matthew 6:28-30 “And why do you worry about clothes? Learn how the wildflowers of the field grow: they don’t labor or spin thread.29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was adorned like one of these! 30 If that’s how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and thrown into the furnace tomorrow, won’t He do much more for you—you of little faith?”

Beach Boardwalk

Just south of Frisco on Hatteras Island, NC is a boardwalk over the dunes to the beach. From on top you can look south to Hatteras Village, and see the waters of the Atlantic and the Pamlico sound in one glance. I grew up here, and whenever I needed to get away to think this is where I came.

This art is for sale as an instant download in my Etsy shop for $5. The link to it is:

I’m in love with HDR imaging

It’s such a beautiful day that I had to grab my camera and see what blossoms are out early this Spring. I decided to bracket the exposures so I can create some HDR (High Dynamic Range) images. Here’s what I got.

Old Oak Watching Over the Wilderness Battlefield

This old oak grows on one of the Civil War battlefields in Virginia. This is the Wilderness Battlefield at Widow Tapp Farm in Virginia. I don’t know how old this oak is, but I can’t help but wonder if it was just a sapling growing here during that horrible battle. Never the less, it stands tall watching over the field today.

The photograph is a high dynamic range (HDR) image. It is created by taking 9 different bracketed exposures of the same scene, and then merging them together. It is an instant download for sale in my Etsy shop for $5.
